For the next month temperatures will vary across the region.  Higher than normal precipitation is expected south of I-90.  During the next two weeks above average temperatures and below average rainfall are predicted north of I-80.  To the south temperatures will be cooler with higher-than-normal precipitation.       

White Mold Risk Summary

Conditions are moderately suitable to white mold infections on late-planted soybeans in far northern areas of the forecast map.

Next 2-week risk interpretation 

Over the next two weeks conditions are moderately favorable for white mold in southern Canada and the northern counties of the northern states.  Late-planted soybeans with flowers in the middle canopy may still be at risk.

The risk of brown spot is moderate to high across the Corn Belt.

For the next two weeks weather conditions are favorable to highly favorable for brown spot development across most of the Midwest.  Scout fields and look for upward development of this disease in the canopy.  Consider treatment if brown spot is found in the mid to upper canopy before R5.

Frogeye Leaf Spot Risk Summary

The risk of frogeye leaf spot is moderate south of I-80 and high south of I-74.

Next 2-week risk interpretation 

During the next two weeks conditions are favorable in orange areas and moderately favorable in surrounding yellow areas.  Scout susceptible cultivars in fields with a history of FLS infections.  Consider treatment if frogeye leaf spot lesions are developing on younger leaves at the top of the soybean canopy.
